Where do you do most of your creating? Is it in your little workspace in the attic, or a garage, or maybe in your garden surrounded by nature?

I'll post my answer in a little bit, but I'd love to know where everyone does their "work". =)

My number one spot is probably my craft room. It's a decent sized room with a 4 foot desk, but I literally only use about 1 square foot of the desk for creating. Everything else holds things: paints, fabric, glue....

Actually, I rarely even use that square foot. I often put a book on my lap and either paint directly on it, put the paper on the book on my lap. I also knit while sitting, cut paper while sitting, plan while sitting. I guess most of my working is done on my lap.

I have a craft room in a spare room upstairs. I am getting it worked out.....but for the most part while it is still hot (a little stuffy upstairs) I work on my coffee table in front of the tv in my living room.....might as well "work" while I fry my brain with TV!

We did a [soft] conversion in the garage a couple of years ago, and this past spring also moved my office there. It's a very large space (3-car), so I have a great area for storage, sewing, supplies and a gigantic cutting table. The downside is that now that my office is in there, so is the computer, and all the distractions associated with it [like this now!]. You can see photos of it and the transformation here!

I only wish I had a craft room... for those of you who do~ LUCKY!! That's my dream. With four kids and none of them willing to give up a room, I'll just have to wait :) So, for now I create in my dining/office/sewing/homework "area" that's where my old cabinet & hutch comes in really handy~ I just store everything away in there when I'm not working on a project.

I typically will sit on my bed. I love to be really comfy when I create because I want my little guys to be as happy an comfy as I feel.

I converted my master bedroom into a studio. I have 5 stations that I work at along with a huge closet and tons of shelves.

The stations that I have are:
1. computer area, with the techie stuff and file cabinets.
2. beadmaking table where I have my clay tools and boxes of canes. Right behind me on a shelf I have an old metal container where I store all my clay.
3. bead table where I make jewelry. that's a big mess at the moment!
4. finishing area where I sand and buff beads and have all my packaging materials for sending out orders.
5. a large work desk that gets used for whatever, mustly just gets things stacked on top of it!

I'm in need of a big clean up and organization. This is where I spend most of my time and it looks like it!

I'm very lucky indeed, I've got my own studio/work/sewing room in the house.

On a tiny computer table which looks out of my window onto an amazing view over northern Bangkok. See pic. It's a bit cramped, but I like it that way. Everything close to hand :-)

I have my craft room setup in my basement. I have two large tables and a large walk-in closet that holds alot of my supplies. I also have a little retail shop, so when I open it, I take some supplies with me to create while I wait for customers to show up!
