I have been working hard adding new items to my etsy shop....and no one is buying - I have been selling stuff around town and having to take them off etsy - but I want to sell some goods on etsy to make me feel like it is worth it! Take a look and see what you think!

Thanks so much!

Well I'm not doing much better in the sales department but I do love the items you are selling in your shop. I will get some items for my daughter for christmas. I know that doesn't help you right now but I have nothing but good to say about your shop. Very cute items. I know I couldn't make them.

Hi, your shop looks great, great pics and descriptions. Maybe it just takes time? I have sort of given up on my Etsy shop for now as I too, sell more through friends and it takes so much effort to update the shop.. I have heard that a secret to success with Etsy is to update regularly. So if you have a heaps of pieces to put up you space them out over several days. Best of luck and your work looks great!

cheers

Hi Tobi,
I am reading your discussions. I have to say I have sold more on my own by showing people my work than on Etsy. I am always wearing a piece of jewelry and when people comment on it I can mention that I make them. Keep pieces for sale in your car and hand out lots of cards. I love your etsy shop and plan on buying at some point for Christmas. I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Hi Ivey, I took a look at your shop and there are a few things I think I can mention on my other blog (Cuteable). Hopefully that will give you a little boost.

As far as getting sales is concerned, I've heard that at least in the beginning most of your customers will be people you know directly, unless you get lucky and are mentioned on a major site or something similar.

In other words, work your existing connections both online and offline, and perhaps start channeling some of your non-local friends and relatives to your Etsy shop to buy. The best word of mouth initially comes from people who know you intimately, I've found.
